As Community Co-ordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind village life - bringing people together, creating meaningful connections, and delivering an engaging programme of events and activities. You’ll play a vital role in helping residents feel welcome, supported, and empowered to live independently while staying socially connected.
This is a people-focused role where no two days are the same, and where your work will make a genuine difference to residents, families, and the wider community.
What You’ll Be Doing
Community & Resident Engagement
Welcome and support new residents, helping them settle in and feel part of the community
Build strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, and community partners
Act as a key point of contact for resident queries and feedback, working with the village team to resolve concerns
Communicate clearly and effectively with residents through a variety of channels
Events & Activities
Plan, deliver, and continually improve a varied, inclusive programme of activities and events
Create opportunities that support wellbeing, independence, and social connection
Encourage strong attendance and participation through creative engagement and promotion
Work closely with the hospitality team to deliver successful, cost-effective events
Evaluate events and use feedback to drive continuous improvement
Partnerships & Volunteering
Build strong links with local organisations, suppliers, and community groups
Recruit, induct, and support resident and community volunteers
Coordinate external instructors and ensure they uphold RVG’s service standards
Teamwork & Standards
Work collaboratively as part of the village management team
Champion excellent customer service and RVG’s values in everything you do
Follow health, safety, and emergency procedures, including participation in the village emergency response
What We’re Looking For
At least 3 years’ experience delivering excellent customer service or community engagement
A genuine passion for people and building meaningful relationships
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
Empathy, resilience, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Confidence managing events, volunteers, and external stakeholders
A team player who is equally comfortable working independently
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
DBS check required
Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to complete – training provided)
